There is an extensive range of strollers on the market today making
it difficult to know just which one is the most suitable for your
needs. Do you need a single stroller, a double stroller, jogging
stroller or an umbrella stroller? These are just a few of the types
of stroller available for you to choose from so deciding just which
one will suit can be daunting. |

Single or Regular Stroller
The single or regular stroller is the stroller that the majority of
parents will purchase for their baby.
Single strollers are obviously
suitable for only one child and come in a variety of sizes and
weights depending on your preference. This type of stroller is a
multi-purpose stroller that will suit most conditions and if
purchased correctly should last until your baby is well on his or
her way to walking comfortably without needing to be in a stroller.
For a newborn the seat should recline fully but should also be
adjustable as your child ages.
Double, Triple and Quad Stroller
Multiple strollers are becoming more and more common. Parents with
twins, triplets or quads can be easily accommodated with a double,
triple or quad stroller. These strollers are also suitable for
parents who have children of different ages who are still too young
to walk comfortably on their own.
There are two configurations of multiple stroller; front-to-back
models where one child sits behind the other and the side-to-side
models where the children sit next to each other. The first option
is more suitable for children of different ages as there is less
likely to be bickering as to who sits in the front and who sits in
the back.
Umbrella Stroller
The umbrella stroller is a lightweight, easy to fold stroller.
Umbrella strollers have hooked handles and fold up to, look somewhat
like an umbrella; hence the name.
Umbrellas strollers are perfect to leave permanently in the trunk of
the car for those quick trips to the shops which is why many parents
purchase them as a second stroller. Although the umbrella stroller
may not be as comfortable as a regular stroller, umbrella strollers
are generally used for short trips only. The umbrella stroller is
usually less expensive than other types of stroller.
Jogging Stroller
If you are an active parent who likes to get out and about then a
jogging
stroller is for you. Designed to handle rougher terrains,
these three wheel strollers are excellent for those trips to the
park, hiking and anywhere where a sturdier vehicle is required.
Jogging strollers are generally heavier and bulkier than regular
strollers. Although many parents use jogging strollers as a regular
stroller they are sometimes not suitable for tight situations and
busy shopping days.
