1. Shades and
colors
The first step is to decide on a color for your nursery. Shades vary
from traditional pastels to bold striking colors. The color you
choose is only limited by your imagination. Your baby nursery
doesn’t need to be decorated in the traditional blue or pink colors.
Many parents use pastel colors as the base with striking colors as
the trim. Try not to choose too dark a color as it can be oppressive
and make the nursery look smaller than it actually is.
2. Nursery Furniture
The next step is to select the major pieces of furniture for your
baby nursery. These will include the baby’s crib, crib mattress,
dresser or chest for storage, baby change table and rocker or
glider.
You can purchase nursery furniture in all styles and shapes
including round and corner cribs, convertible cribs, dresser change
tables and more. Finding a style is quite easy as most baby
furniture can be found in matching pieces in similar woods or
materials.
Convertible furniture is another alternative that will definitely
save you money. Cribs are available that change as your child grows,
eventually turning into a full size bed that can last until your
child leaves home.
3. Crib bedding
Once you have purchased your nursery furniture, you can begin to
look for crib bedding. Baby bedding sets are available in a great
range of styles and colors so you will have no problem choosing one
to match the theme you have chosen for your baby nursery.
4. Nursery Accessories
The final step is to select the remaining accessories for you baby
nursery. This will be the most fun as there is a huge range to
choose from. You can select from mobiles, wall hangings, wall-paper
trim, ruffles, window valances, diaper stackers, baby monitors and
of course the toys. These are just a few of the baby products
available.
